About the Community

What is The Wildlife Community?

JOIN...

The Wildlife Community is us. It’s all of us. Discovering, supporting, and protecting what and who we share our wild patches and green spaces with. Learning about the wildlife visiting our gardens. Realising how our small patch is part of a massive patchwork that needs sewing together. Saving money in the process and supporting others who want to help on a bigger scale.

SAVE...

When you join The Wildlife Community you’ll first and foremost save money on gifts for your garden and the wildlife visiting it. We’re a shop after all. We are supported by Wildlife World, Britain’s leading manufacturer of award-winning wildlife friendly products and our biggest supplier of wildlife habitats and feeders for many species. Wildlife World has ethical and sustainable principles at its core and ensure that all products made in their UK workshop use FSC® (License No. 167799) certified naturally durable timbers, which require more complex drying time but eliminates the need for chemical preservatives (Look for the FSC®-certified products that are clearly marked on this website). Their products also utilise recycled materials and zero-waste plastic alternatives to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible. Together with Wildlife World, we have handpicked a small collection of businesses who also echo our wildlife friendly ethos.

Just by making a purchase on The Wildlife Community website you will be entitled to our member prices, always saving at least 10 per cent off the RRP.

SUPPORT...

Secondly, if you create a membership account, for each purchase you make you’ll earn Bee Bank rewards (see what we’ve done there!) earning YOU further savings and benefits.  We already donate money and products to larger wildlife Charities, projects and efforts. In time, through our Forum – we want to hear from you – if you know of a community project which needs our help, you can nominate local causes. To date, we’ve been able to donate bird boxes, solitary bee houses, bat boxes and wildflower seeds to small rewilding projects in our local town. Now we want to go bigger and further with our support, and with your help we can do that.

CONTRIBUTE...

Thirdly and, saving the best for last, you’ll be imparting the experience you’re gaining through your own wildlife-friendly gardening. Our new online forum is a place to share knowledge, discoveries, ask questions and help others. Have you recently successfully dug a wildlife pond in your village? Perhaps you’ve discovered the best way to entice hedgehogs into your garden? Or worked out a great way to get your local community involved in planting wildflower seeds. It’s this information which we want to help you share with others. So that we can begin to join those patches of wildlife friendly wild spaces together. Helping wildlife. Helping communities. Helping the environment.

OUR PLEDGE TO WILDLIFE...

You see, the aim of The Wildlife Community, from a bigger perspective, is to drive conservation through the small changes which we can all make. Whether in our own gardens, or as part of a bigger village, city or community project. We want to build a conscientious community of sharers to help protect and conserve our natural world.

Some of us here at The Wildlife Community have called it “Thinking Globally, Acting Locally”. The Wildlife Community is here to provide you with the information, experts, connections, and products you need to help your local wildlife. That way, we can all know that our efforts are combined and contributing while enabling us to enjoy beautiful green outdoor spaces knowing that they are rich in wildlife. Remember, no action is too small when it comes to helping your local wildlife, every little helps!
